While we were in Seattle, I tried to squeeze in as much as possible while still giving us enough down time to enjoy the trip and each other. I’ve already shared some photos here, here and here from our trip but decided to fill up our morning prior to departure to fit everything in for the trip. We had ordered delivery the night before and couldn’t have been happier which gave us an opportunity to wake up leisurely. Since we weren’t rushed or in a hurry we made our way over to General Porpoise Doughnuts, a spot I couldn’t pass up after seeing all the pink and blue interiors on Instagram, not to much the delicious looking doughnuts. They make the most delicious filled doughnuts in a variety of different flavors. Lemon curd sounded so delicious as well as the other flavors but a staff member mention the vanilla custard being the top seller so we knew we had to give it a try!
Since all of the flavors sounded amazing, we settled on sampling a few different flavor profiles. Lemon Curd, Vanilla Custard which was light yet still full of vanilla flavor, Pluot Jam and Huckleberry Jam. I’m always a sucker for a pretty latte especially in a place with such pretty interiors. I grabbed a vanilla latte before heading out the door to catch our ferry to Bainbridge Island.
Once we boarded the ferry we were surprised by the quick and scenic ride. We only had a few hours to spend there, so once we arrived we immediately began exploring. We stopped into Blackbird Cafe for some quick snack and had to visit some of the neighborhood shops. I loved Salt House Mercantile which had amazing household goods from candles to organic teas, throws, natural soaps and lotions. I ended up taking home some amazing organic mint green tea which is a favorite blend of mine and I can’t stop brewing pot after pot. We made our way into Pegasus coffee and sipped on an amazing Italian mocha while sitting on the patio next to the harbour. Bainbridge Island is full of amazing coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants. It was hard to narrow our choices down to a few.
We had such a great time in Seattle and enjoyed visiting many different spots, Bainbridge Island being one of them. I highly recommend spending the $8 ferry fare to explore the charming town of Winslow and taking a break from the busy city.
